DENSO is the market leader in small motors, with more than 20% market share, equating to more than 130 million motors per year. DENSO supplies motors for the entire range of automotive applications found on modern vehicles and has more recently begun supplying motors for applications such as office equipment and vending machines.

In conventional motors, DENSO leads the industry in reducing noise and vibration while securing high output. In next generation technologies, DENSO is the industry leader in ultrasonic motors, which offer a high ratio of torque to size and are extremely quiet, partly because they don't require a speed reducer. In addition, ultrasonic motors radiate less electromagnetic energy than conventional motors, therefore reducing the risk of interference with microcomputer circuitry.

More recent innovations include wiper motors that incorporate a clutch to cut excessive external load, and more compact components to reduce size and weight by 20% and 23% respectively. In addition, integrating the controller in the motor itself reduces size and weight by up to 25% compared to separate components.
